Author Instructions
Medical Student International is an online journal that promotes scholarly activity amongst medical students. It intends for them to gain an appreciation for the medical literature, hone research and writing skills, and enhance their professional records.
The Editorial Staff at Medical Student International is pleased to accept manuscripts in the following categories: original research (laboratory-based, clinical and epidemiologic); case reports (novel or noteworthy); mini-reviews; medical hypotheses; clinical controversies; and practice guideline updates.
Manuscripts should be submitted to the Senior Editor (daria.camera@medicalstudentinternational.org) in Word format using AMA style. All manuscripts will be published in American English. It is imperative that proper grammar and syntax are used. If necessary, a faculty mentor or peer who is a native speaker, or a commercial editing service should be utilized.
Manuscript sections are as follows:

Title Page should include the names of all authors, including the highest academic degree, and institution affiliations. A corresponding author should be designated with contact information.

Structured abstract (background, methods, results, conclusion), 250 maximum word length
Case Report
Unstructured abstract, 100 maximum word length
Mini-Reviews, Medical Hypotheses, Clinical Controversies and Practice Guideline Updates
Unstructured abstract, 150 maximum word length

References should be cited within the text by number in parentheses (in line). References should be numbered and listed in the Reference section in the order of appearance. All authors should be listed if 6 or fewer; if 7 or greater, the first 3 authors should be listed, followed by et al. Examples:
